Platform Update: Dashboard Restoration, Network Enhancements, and Resource Lifecycle Management
September 30, 2026 at 08:49 (2 weeks ago)
At Virtnet, we are committed to maintaining a robust, reliable, and high-performance environment for all of our users. Over the past several weeks, our engineering team has been actively auditing our control plane, optimizing dashboard services, and addressing system bottlenecks to enhance overall usability and security.
We are pleased to announce that several critical sections of the Virtnet dashboard have been repaired, restructured, and are now operating as intended. Alongside these fixes, we are initiating a necessary resource maintenance cycle across our subsidized infrastructure pool.
Dashboard Systems Restored & Operational
Our engineering team has resolved underlying API and synchronization issues across the management interface. You can now take full advantage of the following restored features directly from your client panel:
Virtual Private Server (VPS) Firewall Management
- Real-Time Rule Propagation: The panel-level firewall configuration interface for compute instances has been completely overhauled. Inbound and outbound traffic rules now sync seamlessly with our underlying hypervisors without hanging or failing silently.
- Granular Security Controls: Users can reliably manage port-level filtering, stateful rule definitions, and default policy actions (DROP/ACCEPT) across both IPv4 and IPv6 interfaces to ensure your services remain fortified against unwanted traffic.
DNS & Subdomain Registration Engine
- Instant Provisioning: Dynamic DNS zone management and subdomain allocation under Virtnet-managed domains are fully operational.
- Authoritative Sync: Subdomain creation, record modifications (A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT), and route propagation now execute instantaneously across our primary and secondary nameservers, restoring seamless integration for reverse proxies, web endpoints, and remote access.
Infrastructure Lifecycle: Expirations for Subsidized Instances
To uphold our commitment to offering accessible hosting resources while preventing network stagnation, we are implementing an automated lifecycle policy for subsidized virtual machines.
Scope & Details
- Target Fleet: Subsidized instances deployed prior to September 1, 2026.
- Objective: Setting automated expiration windows to identify, decommission, and reclaim compute clusters tied to abandoned, idle, or unmaintained deployments.
- Why This Is Necessary: Allocating subsidized resources requires balanced capacity management. Reclaiming dormant IP space, storage blocks, and compute threads enables us to cycle capacity back into the active community pool, reducing resource contention and ensuring active users have access to verified hardware.
Action Required: Retaining Your Subsidized Server
If your subsidized server was deployed prior to September 1, 2026, and you wish to keep it online, please complete the following steps:
- Log In: Access your client account at Virtnet.bond.
- Review Invoices: Navigate to the Billing / Invoices section of your dashboard.
- Process Renewal Invoices: Check for any pending or generated renewal invoices associated with your subsidized instance and process them to completion. Processing the invoice marks the server as active, updates the service cycle, and clears it from the automated termination queue.
- Data Safety & Backups: As standard administrative best practice, please ensure offsite backups of your critical data, configurations, and databases are up to date before scheduled lifecycle runs.
Note: Unprocessed or abandoned subsidized instances with outstanding renewal invoices will be queued for automated suspension and eventual decommission to free up cluster resources.
Moving Forward
Our priority remains building a resilient, transparent, and performance-driven platform. We appreciate the community’s patience and proactive feedback while our team finalized these dashboard repairs.
If you encounter any issues processing an existing invoice, configuring firewall rules, managing DNS records, or have questions regarding your account status, please submit a ticket via our client portal or reach out through our official community channels.
