Dashboard Update: OpenID Connect (SSO) Integration with Dashboard and Proxmox
We are pleased to announce that OpenID Connect (OIDC) has been successfully integrated as a Single Sign-On (SSO) provider within the dashboard. This implementation enhances both security and user experience by enabling seamless authentication across our systems and services.
Overview
The new OpenID Connect integration is now fully operational and available through the following dashboard areas:
- Registration: Automatically configured for all new user accounts upon sign-up.
- Login: Accessible as a sign-in method from the primary login page.
- Sidebar Navigation: Once logged in, users can access SSO management and linked services directly through the dashboard interface.
Every new business services user registration automatically generates an OpenID identity, ensuring consistent and secure access credentials across our connected systems.
Proxmox Integration
This enhancement also extends to our Proxmox infrastructure — the virtualization management environment responsible for provisioning and maintaining user resources, including compute, storage, and networking.
Through OpenID-based authentication, users with approved permissions can now:
- Access their allocated Proxmox resources directly within the dashboard.
- Manage their virtualized environments without the need for separate credentials.
Please note that Proxmox permissions are granted only upon approval and are generally available to business clients who require dedicated infrastructure access.
About the Technologies
- Single Sign-On (SSO): A secure authentication process that allows users to access multiple systems and applications with a single set of credentials, improving both usability and access control.
- OpenID Connect (OIDC): An identity layer built on top of OAuth 2.0, providing a standardized and secure way to verify user identities and manage session data across systems.
- Proxmox: An enterprise-grade virtualization platform that enables centralized management of virtual machines, containers, and related infrastructure resources.
Summary
This integration represents a significant step toward unified access management, improved security practices, and a more streamlined user experience.
We encourage all business services users to explore the new Single Sign-On functionality now available within the dashboard.
